Chicken Creek flows into the Tualatin River within the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. Over 100 years ago the once meandering Chicken Creek was converted to a straight ditch. While this benefited farming, it significantly reduced habitat for native species. From 2019-2021 a large restoration project converted Chicken Creek back to the original two mile meandering system.
