Ki-a-Kuts Bridge & Fanno Creek Confluence

The Ki-a-Kuts pedestrian bridge takes the Tualatin River Greenway Trail over the Tualatin River. The bridge in named in honor Chief Ki-a-Kuts who led the local Atfalati tribe during the 1850s.  Click here for more information.

The Fanno Creek watershed is 27 square miles. Its headwaters are in the Portland West Hills. The popular Fanno Creek Trail runs along Fanno Creek for about 8 miles. Eventually, the Fanno Creek Trail will connect with the Tualatin River Greenway Trail via the Ki-a-Kuts Bridge.
Fanno Creek is named after Augustus Fanno, the first European settler along the creek. In 1847, he started an onion farm on a 640 acre land claim in what later became part of Beaverton. In 1859, he build the Fanno Farmhouse which is owned by the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District.
