The Joint Water Commission (JWC) provides our local drinking water. To meet the growing needs of Washington County, JWC will be pipelining Willamette River water to a state-of-the-art water treatment plant in Sherwood and then into the current water distribution system. This system will be online in 2026.
The future site of Lasich Park will initially be used for testing the new pipeline. Once that is finished, Tigard, the site owner, is planning on converting the site to a park which includes river access around River Mile 20.0. This site will cut the 16.9 mile gap in river access between Scholls Bridge and King City Community Park in half. There is currently no public access at this site.
