The Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge has an informative visitor center, a wetland view, picnic area, walking trails, and a river overlook. There is no paddlecraft put in or take out in the Refuge. Dogs are not allowed in the Refuge.
The South Rock Creek watershed is 14 square miles. It runs into the Tualatin River very close to the Refuge river overlook. The South Rock Creek floodplain has been undergoing active restoration to return it to a scrub and shrub wetland. The resulting community of woody shrubs and emergent wetland plants will benefit a variety of songbirds, marsh birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
